Important scam notice
Recently, we have received inquiries about illegal investment solicitations and fraudulent activities by unrelated third parties claiming to operate the asset management business of L&G (formerly known as 'LGIM', hereafter the same).
According to the information received, fraudulent domains similar to the L&G brand name and L&G's legitimate domains may be used to operate unauthorized trading platforms. It appears that these unauthorized trading platforms are targeting investors across Asia, including Japan, through social media for scams. These social media activities may include AI-generated videos impersonating celebrities and scenarios where targets receive exclusive invitations to the platform. In such cases, communication between victims and the fraudsters seems to occur via chat functions on the fraudulent platforms (such as LINE, WhatsApp, Telegram, and other instant messaging services); however, L&G does not contact customers through such chat functions at all.
