Case studies
L&G's Contribution to Redevelopment of Regional Cities in UK - Case 1
Legal & General and Bruntwood have established a landmark 50:50 partnership to create the UK’s largest property platform dedicated to driving science and technology growth in regional cities.
The deal represented the largest investment in science and technology property assets in Europe in 2018. It ignited a business plan that will see the partnership’s assets grow from 1.3m sq. ft. on day one to over 6.2m sq. ft. over the next ten years, increasing the value of the portfolio to £1.8bn and supporting the creation of 20,000 high value jobs.
The existing portfolio includes projects in Manchester, Leeds and Birmingham with the ambition to expand to other cities.
L&G's Contribution to Redevelopment of Regional Cities in UK - Case 2
In December 2016, Legal & General entered into a long-term partnership with Newcastle City Council and Newcastle University to help build and finance the £350m Newcastle Helix development to become a major UK hub for scientific research and technology businesses, creating over 4,000 jobs, 500,000 sq. ft. of office and research space, and 450 new homes.
